        Women’s Day was first celebrated in 1909, when the American Socialist Party issued a declaration calling for commemorations to be held on the last Sunday of February each year. This annual celebration lasted until 1913. In Western countries, the commemoration of International Women's Day was held normally during the 1920s and 1930s, but it was interrupted for a while. It was not until the 1960s that it gradually recovered with the rise of the feminist movement.
